Being on your period is not embarrassing.
What started as a grant through The Pad Project has become much more.
In 2023, we received our first grant through The Pad Project providing 26 individuals with menstrual products for an entire year! This was CODE RED‘s first big success and has led to a number of community members taking initiative, and fueling product drives to further support the mission.
In 2024, we were able to help another (##) individuals and gather enough products to help more of our community members in emergency situations. We saw the need and continue to break barriers by providing help wherever we possibly can.
While we have always been thankful for the support that United Way of Southeast Iowa has given us, and continue to show our gratitude and work together with them, we knew that as we expanded that it was time to come into our own and flourish.
So, in 2025, our goal was to build up our supply alongside becoming our own 501(c)3 to begin our own initiatives that help expand our funding and capabilities to assist those suffering due to period poverty.
